ABOUT ME

Jenny Young is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern who works with children, adults, couples and families. Jenny strives to create a safe and supportive environment where client and clinician can work in collaboration to resolve current issues, promote healing from past trauma, and to increase self-awareness and confidence.

Jenny grew up here in Redding, CA and loves the area's beautiful surroundings. "There's something about water, be it the river, the creeks, the water falls, the lakes...that bring me peace. The sounds and sights transport me to an introspective place of calm."

Jenny is the mother of three adult children and the adopted grandmother of many. Her husband, Peter, teaches psychology at both Shasta College and Simpson University and is the "very best husband in the world." Jenny's family bring meaning and joy to her life, exemplifying the unconditional love and connection that she tries to bring to her practice. "I want to be authentically me everywhere I go and I want to encourage my clients to feel safe exploring their own authenticity in our time together. Who you see in my office is who I am all the time. The care and acceptance I hope you experience with me, is always genuine."
